The project was undertaken in 2 phases;
Phase 1, included the construction of a new site entrance to segregate the community centre car park fromconstruction work access and the complete refurbishment of one of the Parochial houses to upgrade theprivate accommodation, and convert the basement to offices and community rooms.
Phase 2, included the demolition of the community centre, opening of new community rooms and construction of the Pastoral Centre and associated landscaping and car parking, a strikingly modern building integrated into the environs of the 19th century Church buildings to form new public spaces. The integration of the contemporary building in the historic setting is achieved with simple palette of materials – stone, glass and concrete
